I went for a solo paddle out of Newport on 3/6/10. It was breezy and choppy but seemed pretty nice. Then when I was off Corona Del Mar, I saw a waterspout in the distance. Water was being whipped up in a cone below a funnel cloud. It was right of the edge of a squall (more rain than wind) coming right at me. Of course, what do I do? Pull out the video camera! The rest of the paddle was choppy and breezy but nice. The waterspout was rather weak and too far away for video, but I got some good footage of the downpour 3/6/2010 5:57:34 PM
